2.2 Draft Review
2.2.1 Initial Draft
This is the activity done predominately by the DP Author. First, the DP Author works with the Approving CCE and the Leadership Team to define the scope of the DP. With the scope of the DP, the reviewers for the DP, and the DP due date known, the Author writes and integrates portions from the DP Team into the final document. If there is no DP Team, then the Author writes the entire DP, consulting with others in the Owning Engineering Organization as necessary to complete the task. The Author, the DP Team, and DP Coordinator meet on an as needed basis to assure that progress is being made. When finished with the Initial Draft, the DP Author makes all files available to the reviewers and promotes the DP to Initial Review.
2.2.2 Initial Review
This is the first review of the DP. The DP Author has made the DP available to all reviewers the Leadership Team has identified. This review covers all aspects of the DP, both technical and grammatical. The Approving CCE should not be forced to perform a readability or grammatical review during the Final Approval state. All of those comments should be made and resolved now.
2.2.3 Final Draft
The final step, before the DP is given to the Approving CCE for Final Approval, is the Final Draft when the DP Author resolves any minor comments which might exist. The DP Author places all of the pertinent files in the eDP folder, including the DP itself, the DP checklist, any calculation spreadsheets, lists of pertinent similar designs if needed, etc.. The DP is promoted either by the DP Author or the DP Coordinator.
